A small-format Target store and Salon Lofts are heading for the retail space at Wicker Park Connection apartments.
The new 12,800-square-foot Target store at 1664 W. Division Street was announced by the retail company back in December. It will anchor the 60-unit Wicker Park Connection I, formerly Wicker Park Centrum which opened in fall 2016, and offer apparel, toys, sporting goods, fresh produce and other groceries.
A new Salon Lofts location is planned for the development as well, although further details have not been released. The beauty studio has two other locations in the West Loop and River North.
The second phase of the apartment project, and most likely where Salon Lofts will occupy space, is already well underway at 1640 W. Division Street. The 15-story, 146-unit building is scheduled to open in June.
In addition to the rental buildings, the plan also includes 17 townhouses and a seven-story condo building. The development will fill in spaces at 1200 N. Milwaukee Avenue and 1600 W. Division Street overlooking the Polish Triangle.
Also, nearly a third of the 2.5 acre development will be public space and gardens creating a plaza-like pathway from Division Street to Milwaukee Avenue.
